Patriarch Smith

Craig, Doug's dad, was called to be the Stake Patriarch on Easter. We know that he is a little overwhelmed, but we know that he is more than qualified to do the job. You will be in our prayers Papa. We Love You!

Easter Day

We had a busy Easter Day. First Braxton had to see what the Easter bunny had brought him. Then we went to hear Grandma Deana and Papa Bill sing their ward. Then we had fun with the Smith Family and then with the Spence Family.

Braxton loves Spider Man bouncy balls

Someone looks like they didn't get enough sleep.

Smith Family Easter Picnic

The annual Smith Family Easter Picnic is such a tradition. Every year we have a bon fire up in Grandpa's field, where we roast hotdogs and have some good food. This year was filled with Easter egg hunt, four wheeler rides and kite flying. It was a blast and Braxton had so much fun hanging out with his cousins.

Robyn and Doug trying the fly kites. I can imagine this is what it would have looked like when they were little kids.

Trying to figure out how to get the kite to fly.

Braxton and Holden were great pals hunting for eggs together.

Coloring Easter Eggs

Friday night we colored Easter eggs with Brynn, Casey and Gavin and we also had Lisa, Hayes, Emma and Taylor come over too. Emma and Braxton had a lot of fun coloring eggs and putting stickers on the eggs. Brynn and Gavin had fun coloring eggs too, but I must have not taken any pictures of them. oops!

Playing with Friends

Braxton has so many neighbor friends his age. It is fun to have so many friends to play with at our little playground. He was playing with Aiden and Ezra who are twins and Emma.

Cousin Fun!

Friday night Alicia went to one of Bob's concerts so Brynn and I watched Damon and Kylie. The cousins had a fun night all together. Gavin is so cute he wants to be big and play with the cousins.

Classroom Projects

In teaching 1st grade, there are many fun projects that we get to do. In History we are learning about the country Mexico and in Science we have been learning all about the ocean and the ocean life. In History we learned about where Mexico is and about the Yucatan Peninsula, so my students were suppose to create a brochure for the Yucatan Peninsula. I had some really creative brochures. We also talked about Mexican holidays so we made pinatas, then we had fun trying to hit our pinata and get all the candy. In Science we had a big Culminating Event where all the parents came to look at my students' Corral Reef dioramas. They did there dioramas at home and then brought them to school to share. They were all so creative, and it was fun to see the student's who you could tell that they did all the work themselves. So here are some fun pictures to show off my students' work. Enjoy!

Our beautiful pinatas. They worked in groups.

This student had a very creative brochure with real sand and she had real pictures of her because she had went to the Yucatan Peninsula.

This Corral Reef diorama was very creative and it had this really neat ball foam that was sticky and squishy. You couldn't help but touch it.

The little girl who made this was really creative by using food to make her corral reef.

This little boy used pictures from the internet and then he used string to make them look like they were swimming.

When Braxton saw these it said "It's Finding Nemo".

Candyland

I tried to play the game Candyland with Braxton and he did fairly well, but I noticed that Doug and I both gave him a trait that can be good at times, but not so good at times, he is very Competitive!
