Smiles Galore

My gorgeous girl is 2months now. Part of me feels like it went by fast and part of me feels it has gone by slow. She is such a sweetie, and I love that she is developing her personality, it is so fun to see her smile so much. I took about 30 pictures of her and out of those 30 pictures I probably got more than half of them with a smile.

I thought I would jot down a few of her stats.

  • 12 lbs. 80 percentile
  • 23 1/2 in. 95 percentile
  • Smiles (a lot)
  • Coos, oohs, wants to talk( must be a girl thing)
  • Sleeps between 5-7 hours a night
  • Sucks on her fist sometimes to sleep
  • Loves Braxton's voice
  • She has a very strong neck, holds her head up.

Living in the Moment

I love being a Mother, I am not going to lie and say that every moment is easy, but I am trying to live in the moment more, and find those moments that make being a mother so worth it. Here are a few I was thinking of.

Those moments that Braxton says "I love you so much Mom". The moment when I hear Bailey crying at 3am and I pick her up and she stops crying and I see her perfect innocent face, and I can't help but smile. The moment when Braxton sings his alphabet or spells his name. The moment when I pick Bailey up before she actually is awake and the way she stretches is the cutest thing. The moment when Braxton wants to give me a kiss or a hug. The moment when I am changing Bailey's diaper and she gives me the cutest smiles that melt my heart. The moment when Braxton wants me to play a game with him. The moment when Bailey wants to lay right on my chest and fall asleep snuggled next to me. The moment Braxton says he misses his dad. The moment I walk in to see my babies sleeping so peacefully and I wonder what they are dreaming.

There are so many more moments. I love my little munchkins, and the moments they give me. It reminds me a poem my mom had in our bathroom growing up and I memorized it, but not till I had children did I understand it.

"The cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow, for children grow up, I've learned to my sorrow. So quiet down cobwebs. Dust go to sleep. I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep. "

Big Helper

Braxton is such a big helper. He got Bailey out of her car seat without me knowing and brought her to me because she was crying. I can just imagine the trouble these two are going to get into later on.

Children's Discovery Museum

We were invited by the Larson Family to go to the Children's Discovery Museum at Gateway for Brielle's Birthday. This was the first time we had been and it was so much fun watching the kids. They had a blast trying out all the new things.

The Market was so cute. I think Braxton liked the check out girl.

Thanksgiving Pointe

I got my Mother's Day present a few weeks early, a family pass to Thanksgiving Pointe, and we have been taking full advantage of it. If you haven't been to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Pointe Gardens you are missing out. It is goregous! We have made three trips to the Garden so far this year, we have been to the Farm Country, and to the Dinosaur Museum. Needless to say, we will be spending a lot of our summer at Thanksgiving Pointe, so anyone who wants to come just let me know.
